The Amaya Explorer is a lovely crafted Indonesian phinisi liveaboard made for scuba divers along with ocean lovers seeking unforgettable adventures across some of the Indonesia' most spectacular marine destinations. Combining traditional Indonesian boat building with modern comfort, this 35-metre vessel offers an exceptional way to explore the rich underwater world of Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea, Alor and other remote regions within the Coral Triangle. Built using time-honoured craftsmanship in Sulawesi, the Amaya Explorer reflects Indonesia's proud maritime heritage while providing a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests throughout every voyage.

Designed to accommodate up to 16 guests in eight spacious cabins, the Amaya Explorer creates a relaxed atmosphere that never feels crowded. Each cabin is air conditioned and features a private ensuite bathroom, comfortable bedding and practical storage, allowing guests to unwind after a full day of diving or exploring. The carefully planned layout offers a balance of privacy and social spaces, making the yacht equally suited to couples, friends, solo travellers and private charter groups.

Life onboard revolves around enjoying Indonesia's incredible natural beauty. Large outdoor relaxation areas provide panoramic sea views, while comfortable indoor lounges offer a cool retreat between activities. Guests can relax with a drink, review underwater photographs or simply enjoy watching remote islands pass by as the yacht cruises between destinations. Meals are freshly prepared by the onboard chefs and combine Indonesian flavours with international cuisine, using quality ingredients to create varied menus throughout each trip. Vegetarian, vegan and dietary requirements can also be catered for with advance notice.

Although the Amaya Explorer is best known as a diving liveaboard, it offers much more than scuba diving alone. Snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking, island walks and visits to traditional villages are often included depending on the itinerary. These additional activities allow non-divers and family members to enjoy the journey while experiencing Indonesia's unique landscapes, wildlife and local culture.

Divers benefit from a well-equipped dive deck with dedicated equipment storage, rinse tanks and easy access to two dive tenders that transport guests quickly and safely to each dive site. Nitrox is available for qualified divers, helping maximise bottom time on repetitive dives during longer itineraries. Professional dive guides accompany every trip, selecting dive sites according to weather, currents and marine life activity to provide the safest and most rewarding experience possible.

One of the biggest attractions of the Amaya Explorer is the diversity of destinations visited throughout the year. Komodo National Park offers thrilling drift dives, colourful coral reefs, graceful manta rays and the famous Komodo dragons. Raja Ampat is recognised as one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems on the planet, with pristine coral gardens, huge schools of fish, reef sharks and countless macro species. The Banda Sea is renowned for deep walls, historic Spice Islands and seasonal schooling hammerhead sharks, while Alor combines volcanic scenery with dramatic underwater topography and outstanding marine biodiversity.

turtleMarine life sightings regularly include turtles, manta rays, reef sharks, schools of barracuda, giant trevally, napoleon wrasse, tuna, dolphins and colourful reef fish. Depending on the season and location, lucky guests may also encounter whale sharks, hammerheads, mola mola, eagle rays or even migrating whales. Every itinerary is planned to make the most of seasonal conditions, giving divers excellent opportunities to experience Indonesia's remarkable underwater diversity.

Service is another feature that consistently receives praise from guests. The experienced Indonesian crew are known for their warm hospitality, attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for sharing their country's natural treasures. From the moment guests arrive until the final farewell, every effort is made to ensure a smooth, enjoyable and memorable journey. Whether assisting with dive equipment, preparing delicious meals or organising excursions ashore, the crew work together to create a friendly atmosphere where guests quickly feel at home.

For travellers seeking an authentic Indonesian liveaboard experience, the Amaya Explorer successfully blends traditional craftsmanship, modern comfort and world-class diving into one unforgettable adventure. With carefully planned itineraries, comfortable accommodation, excellent service and access to some of the finest dive sites on Earth, it provides an outstanding choice for anyone looking to discover the extraordinary marine life and breathtaking islands that make Indonesia one of the world's premier diving destinations. Every voyage offers new encounters, stunning scenery and lasting memories both above and below the surface.
