Red Sea Explorer is a very large and newly-built diving safari liveaboard offering wonderful week-long trips to all of the best diving areas in the Red Sea. The boat was built in 2019 and is a huge 43 metres in length. Up to 24 lucky guests can stay in 12 luxurious cabins, which cover three decks and four levels of comfort. The communal areas are plentiful, both inside and out, and the food is delicious.
Like most liveaboards in Egypt, Red Sea Explorer offers week-long safaris to the best diving areas at each time of year. The large dive deck is at the rear of the boat, and the Nitrox membrane can quietly fill all the tanks between dives. Further forward on this main deck is the lounge saloon, the restuarant, kitchen and three guest cabins. On the lower deck are four standard twin-bed cabins, each with a tv, sofa, mini fridge, security safe, and of course air conditioning and a private bathroom.
On the upper deck there are five more guest cabins. These are four 'suites' and 'the master suite.' The four upper deck suites are extremely comfortable, with huge windows to let in lots of daylight. Of course, they also have en suite bathrooms and air conditioning, along with tv, fridge and mini safe. But the highlight is the massive 'master suite' which offers nearly 170° views, huge king-size bed, rain shower, Nespresso coffee, and a private terrace/balcony!
Communal areas are abundant, both inside and out. The lounge saloon is the perfect place to relax indoors, and there are exposed and shaded outdoor areas on the upper and top decks. Whether you plan to relax alone, in couples or in groups, there's always somewhere to find on this wonderful boat.
Nitrox fills are for free on Red Sea Explorer and the dive deck is both huge and well designed. Depending on the dive site and conditions, you can start each dive from the rear of the liveaboard, or from one of the motorised zodiac tender dinghies. The dive guides are experienced, professional and speak several languages. The whole crew are service minded and friendly, ensuring your week on board flies by in safe & fun comfort! And don't expect to lose any weight on board, such is the amount and taste of the great food served on board.
Safety always comes first, and the boat is fully equipped with all the necessary features, including navigation, communication and ENOS GPS locators for each diver.

Itinerary
Most weeks Red Sea Explorer starts and ends each trip on Thursdays. At the beginning of your trip you will board the boat on a Thursday afternoon or evening and the boat stays in the harbour on Thursday night.
On Friday mornings the boat sails out to the dive sites and you usually get two dives on the Friday, then three per day from Saturday to Tuesday. On Wednesday you get up to two dives, which gives you time to 'off gas' before flying.
On Thursday morning after breakfast you are transferred to the nearest airport or local hotels for free.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

Courses
PADI and SSI courses are normally available on request.
Because Nitrox fills are for free, the EANx course is the most-popular on Red Sea Explorer.
But Open Water Divers are also welcome to continue their dive education by taking the Advanced (Adventurer) course which enables you to dive to 30 metres and navigate the reefs.
In nearly all cases, it's important to pre-book your diving course on Red Sea Explorer.
Transfer details
Guests are transferred for free from (and back to) local hotels and the nearest airport at the start and end of each trip. These transfers are normally shared with other Red Sea Explorer guests, and at set times to coincide with the boat's itinerary.
Trips depart from and return to Hurghada and Port Ghalib, depending on the planned itinerary of dive locations. If your flight arrives at Hurghada and the trip sails from Port Ghalib (or vice versa) please contact us for more information regarding the land transfer that takes three hours.
