Aurora offers you the perfect match of modern luxury with traditional design. Up to 18 lucky guests can enjoy some of the best diving in the world, around Indonesia's Raja Ampat, Komodo and Banda Sea areas. It's a phinisi yacht, built from ironwood by the best boat builders of Sulawesi and launched in 2010. It's a huge 42 metres long and 9 metres wide, ensuring not only plenty of space for guests, but also safe & steady sailing.
As is normal for phinisi yachts the guest cabins are located on the lower deck. There are seven cabins towards the front, and two at the rear. All cabins accommodate two guests, have independently-controlled air conditioning and a private bathroom. Three of the cabins are fixed twins, with two separate single beds, and the rest have a large double bed, some with an extra single or child's bed as well. Housekeeping come to clean each cabin every day.
The boat also has plenty of communal space for you to socialise or relax alone or in couples. This includes out on deck to enjoy the warm weather, stunning views and sea breeze, as well as the large air-conditioned lounge saloon and dining area. There's also an air-conditioned camera room for photographers to clean, prepare, service and charge their cameras.
Your diving equipment on Aurora is stored on board, but the diving is done from its two tender boats. These are not just simple dignhies, but proper twin-engined boats driven from the front. Access to the tenders is via steps and a platform on the side of Aurora. Nitrox is for free to certified divers, and rental equipment is available if booked in advance. The boat has a full complement of safety, navigation and communication systems, ensuring that unplanned incidents do not happen, or can be dealt with immediately.
The food is a delicious blend of Asian and western cuisine, served throughout the day. It's not too spicy but full of flavour, and with advanced warning the team can cater for almost any special dietary needs. With the comfortable cabins, spacious communal areas, great food, views, and service-minded team, you could be forgiven for not wanting to leave the boat to go diving. But with trips to the best dive sites of Raja Ampat, Komodo, & The Banda Sea you will soon realise the true beauty of Indonesian liveaboard diving, up to three times each day.
