Empress is a unique Indonesia liveaboard diving boat. It looks quite unlike all others, which are mainly Phinisi schooners. Empress is a steel boat that has a long award-winning history of discovering & being the first to dive many shipwrecks across Indonesia. Its safety & comfort features are also very special compared to other boats in the area. Empress sails around Indonesia making sure that it’s always at the best location depending on the time of year. Usually no more than ten guests join each trip.

At 22 metres in length, Empress is a medium-size Indonesia scuba diving liveaboard. There are five guest cabins, and on most trips there are no more than ten guests. However, the maximum guest capacity is thirteen. All cabins are air-conditioned and comfortable. The captain, crew and dive staff are all very experienced in offering the safest and most-enjoyable scuba diving cruises in Indonesia.

Empress has five guest cabins, which are all a little different from each other. Cabin A has three single beds, Cabins B & C have a double bed and a single bunk above. Cabin D has a large double bed and a single bed. Although Cabins B, C & D can accommodate three guests, this only happens if all three know each other and they book together. Normally only two guests stay in Cabins B, C & D. Finally, Cabin E has one single bed, which makes it ideal for solo divers who want some privacy. All cabins have air-conditioning. Cabins A, B, C, & D have independently-controlled air conditioners, and Cabin E uses the air flow from Cabin E, plus it has a fan. All cabins have porthole windows that can be opened. Bathroom facilities are shared between the guests, and they all have hot & cold freshwater showers and western-style toilets.

A feature that are unique to Empress is its diver lift! Divers normally start each dive from one of the two motorized tender dinghies, but after diving the boat has a special sensor system that can locate divers underneath the surface and actually lower a lift into the water to retrieve them to the upper deck.

The food on Empress also has a great reputation. It is served several times each day and it’s the perfect blend of local and western cuisine. You certainly won’t go hungry, and will probably come back for second portions. At any time between or after dives on Empress guests relax and socialise. The atmosphere and facilities are very pleasant, and include the Shisha lounge and chess set.

Empress sails around Indonesia depending on the high season of each area. From late May to October, it has trips at the world-famous Komodo Islands and you get to visit the dragons on the final day of your trip. Then for the rest of the year it’s at Raja Ampat, which has the best diving in the world. In between Komodo and Raja Ampat you can also join crossing trips that visit places like Ambon and Maumere.

Finally, Empress is a great boat for getting good deals on Indonesia liveaboard diving trips. If you book more than 12 months in advance you get an automatic discount of 15%, plus we offer early-bird and last-minute discounts on any remaining spaces.
