MY Blue Voyager is a luxurious Maldives diving liveaboard with a bit of a difference. Unlike most other dive yachts in the country that have wooden hulls, Blue Voyager’s is made of steel. This is because the boat started its life in The Red Sea before moving to The Maldives. But it also benefits from Maldivian liveaboards’ setup in that it uses a dhoni support vessel for the scuba diving activities. Thus, it offers the best of both worlds.
At 37 metres long and 8 metres wide, Blue Voyager is a large boat for just 26 lucky guests. There are 13 guest cabins, in twin or double-bed configuration, over three of the boat’s four decks. Each cabin has a private bathroom, air conditioning, television & plenty of storage space. There are lots of communal socialising areas both inside & out, plus sunbathing zones. It’s lucky that trips are a week or longer so that guests have time to fully enjoy every part of the boat.
Red Sea scuba diving liveaboards differ from Maldives yachts in that they don’t use large support vessels (dhonis) for diving. And therefore they are designed with a large dive deck at the rear of the boat. This was how Blue Voyager started life, but when it moved to The Maldives this area was transformed into a large sofa area, split into two sections. This is just one of the many communal areas on this wonderful boat, making it impossible for any one area to ever be crowded. Other outdoor areas include the sofas, sun loungers and Jacuzzi on the top deck, and two more places with armchairs & coffee tables at the front and rear of the upper deck. Also on the upper deck is the air-conditioned bar & saloon lounge. Here you can escape the sun and maybe enjoy a movie during your Maldives liveaboard diving safari. Down on the main deck is the indoor dining room that also has some soft seating to relax.
Guest cabins are available in Standard and Deluxe Twin & Double. All have the same amenities, but the Deluxe cabins are on higher decks or have better positioning on the boat. The kitchen team serves up lots of varied & delicious meals several times each day, and the crew & dive team are all experienced in Maldivian waters. Like other Maldives liveaboards, the scuba diving is done from the 19-metre support boat. This is ideal in so many ways. The main boat has more space for relaxing, plus there are no wet areas. Also, the dhoni’s manoeuvrability can get divers right over each reef to ensure the easiest & quickest entry for each dive.
Both Blue Voyager and its dhoni are fully equipped with safety, communication and navigation facilities, to ensure that safety always comes first, closely followed by convenience, comfort & fun.

Itinerary
There are several itineraries on Blue Voyager. Most are one week or ten nights long, but one or two trips are twelve nights in duration. Depending on the time of year, Blue Voyager sails around the central atolls, the north, or the south.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
