One of the most prestigious and easily-recognizable diving cruise ships in Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago is Panunee. This 32-metre long boat has a steel hull and it was designed & built specifically for diving safaris around Southeast Asia. Although Panunee is especially popular with Asian guests & underwater photographers, divers from all over the world come to join Panunee’s 5D/6N Mergui Archipelago cruises. Trips sail from Khao Lak in Thailand, and also visit Richelieu Rock. Guests can choose from en suite rooms, twin deluxe, or studio cabins. All cabins have individually-controlled air-conditioning and there are lots of comfortable air-conditioned indoor & outdoor communal areas.
Panunee is a large purpose-built diving boat, and its size also provides safe & comfortable journeys in any sea conditions. Diving from a large liveaboard boat has no disadvantages at all for guests. There are motorized tender dinghies to pick divers up, and to transfer passengers to the islands, including excursions to visit the uninhabited islands of southern Myanmar (Burma).
Up to twenty lucky guests can join each cruise on Panunee. On the boat’s main deck there are luxurious suite rooms with views across the bow and three deluxe rooms. On the lower deck are two more deluxe rooms & two studio cabins, which are ideal for photographers. The top deck is where guests sunbathe and enjoy evening barbeques. Towards the rear of the upper deck is the air-conditioned Andaman Multimedia Room and the open-air lounge. Meals are served on the main deck, inside the ‘Similan Dining Lounge.’
Panunee sails farther north into Myanmar’s Mergui Archipelago than most other liveaboard trips. Its size and cruising ability enable the captain to take the boat right up to Tower Rock, and visit some truly wonderful places along the way. Many of the wonderful dive sites and locations on these trips have no locals or other dive groups there at the same time.
Diving from Pannunee is safe, comfortable and enjoyable, thanks to the boat’s design and the staff & crew. There is a huge dive platform, with plenty of space to move around on. Naturally, Nitrox fills are available, and there are plenty of rinse tanks for photographers.

Courses
If you would like to take part in a PADI or SSI course while on board Panunee, please let us know well in advance. Unlike most other liveaboard diving boats in Southeast Asia, Panunee’s guests mostly join the cruises just for fun diving and courses are not as common as on other trips. However, with enough notice it may well be possible for us to arrange a diving course for you on this boat.
Transfer details
Sheduled transfers from most hotels in Phuket & Khao Lak, plus Phuket International Airport are available free of charge on departure and return days.
Guests who are outside of the pickup zone, or arriving at times to miss the scheduled pick up can contact us for honest, safe private taxis at competitive rates.
