At 27 metres in length, MV Camic is a typical-size liveaboard boat which visits the Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock. The boat has earned a reputation as something a bit special for its delicious food. The mouth-watering meals are something to look forward to throughout the diving day. This includes Thai and western cuisine, served buffet style.
There are two cabin types to choose from. These are the master cabins which have a double bed, and the twin-bunk cabins that have two single beds. All have private en suite bathrooms & air conditioning. For some private charter trips there is also the option of a standard twin cabin that shares the boat's communal bathrooms, thus increasing guest capacity to 16. There is a covered communal area where the delicious meals are enjoyed. On the top and at the front of the boat are areas for guests to enjoy the sea breeze, sunbathe, gaze at star-filled skies or watch out for jumping dolphins.
Trips used to be 'flexible' meaning that divers could join on any day. But now Camic only offers fixed-schedule trips which visit The Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and The Surin Islands in the high season. Plus during the 'Green Season' there are trips from Pak Bara in the deep south that go to Koh Lipe for 3D/3N. Please note that these trips are also shown by other websites to be 5D/4N and 4D/3N, which is incorrect and misleading.
There is time to relax and really get into the fun diving, or even take part in a PADI dive course to increase your certification and experience. PADI courses on Camic are unbeatable value. MV Camic Charter information
MV Camic is the ideal scuba diving liveaboard for chartered diving trips in Thailand. It is run by an experienced, friendly and professional crew, especially the locally-famous chefs who serve lots of delicious meals several times every day. The boat is an ideal size to ensure friendly & sociable trips, but still offer space & privacy for couples, friends and solo divers. Most trips are 4D/4N or 5D/5N to The Similan Islands & Richelieu Rock, but with enough forward planning it's possible to have a shorter or longer trip, or visit the southern islands of Koh Haa & Hin Daeng.
There are three master cabins on Camic, two on the upper deck and one on the main deck. Also on the main deck are four twin-bunk cabins, which are all en suite. If your group is larger than 14, or you need more than seven cabins, there is also one more twin-bunk cabin that uses shared bathroom facilities. The communal dining and social-gathering area is on the upper deck, and offers great views, a sea breeze and shelter. Sun worshippers can go further up to the top deck to enjoy a partially-shaded roof which is perfect for chilling, sunbathing or gazing at the star-filled night skies.

Camic's itineraries sometimes change from one season to the next, but for 2023-2024 there is just one itinerary, and it's a good one!
4D/4N up to 14-15 dives starting at Similan Islands, then during the cruise you sail north to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands. On the way back the boat normally stops at a couple of wrecks.
Some other websites show the same trips as 5D/4N, which is misleading because there are only 4 proper days.
Some other websites show the trips to have five nights, but this is not the case for 2023-2024.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.
There is a wide range of diving courses that can be completed while you enjoy cruising around the crystal-clear waters of the Similan and Surin Islands. The unbeatable prices are inclusive of materials & certification.
Please note that the dives are not ‘extra to the cruise.’ They are part of your chosen cruise package, but you will be taught by a qualified and experienced PADI instructor for that many of your Camic liveaboard cruise dives.

maybe I just caught them at a bad time but things were not up to a level that other outfits provide. lots of little things that were just sub-par. the room and bathroom was never cleaned during the trip. There was no furniture of any kind on the roof / sun deck so there was no reason to go up there. even bean bags would have been nice. the food was reasonable although most was fried. but the worst part was the total lack o
f skill of the tender boat. Most times we were expected to swim back to the yacht while the tender just motored around or floated in some other location. a few times the tender would throw out a rope and tow people (in reverse) back to the yacht ! who does that? one evening the weather and seas were getting rough and we were made to swim 150m back to the yacht. unfortunately the seas life did not visit us on any of my 12 dives so the Similan Islands were quite boring. but that is up to Neptune. The boat-boys and skiff operator were untrained. Ive personally been an ocean guide and skiff owner when I was young and know what Im talking about in this regard. Whether its docking the skiff to the yacht, operating the skiff around divers, or bringing people to & from the beach these boys did not know proper handling. We were dropped off (wearing dry clothes) to enjoy a sunset walk from atop Sail Rock but when picked up 1 hour later the skiff boys would not get closer than chest deep even though there was a fixed anchorline they could manage the skiff from. This meant that everyone had to get their dry clothes wet. Yet the propeller was still 1m above the sand.

I've recently done the 4D/4N trip with Camic and also got my advanced OWD on the boat. I really enjoyed my time and would definitely recommend it. We went diving at beautiful dive sites, the food was delicious, the dive instructors, dive masters and the crew were all so friendly and helpful and the cabins were super nice and clean.

Had a fabulous trip on Camic. Dennis and team were professional and did their utmost to ensure we had a good experience on board.
The diving was fantastic, on the whole. Amazing underwater life though be prepared for the occasional strong current and bad visibility - but that’s what brings in the Mantas etc!
Food was very good and loved Dennis’ enthusiasm and humour plus desire to give us a lot of information on the di
ve sites and safety was high on the list.
The boat itself was fine. Not 5 star but I was happy we had en suite and AC and no nasty bugs. It was clean (maybe put some hooks in the cabins to help dry towels and store gear?) Don’t take a big bag in board, cabins are small.
We made some great friends on board and I only wish I could speak Thai to thank the crew better for their amazing care of us.
I’d definitely recommend booking with Jamie as well, totally efficient and fast replies for every question I threw at him.

Denis and the team were absolutely amazing. Fantastic dive guides, and very professional. The food on board was amazing, so fresh and so delicious. It was amazing rolling out of bed and going for a dive and having everything organised for you.
This was my first experience, and wow MV Carmic have set the bar high.

The dive guide might be new but they tried and do their best! Every meal was freshly prepared and taste awesome! Overall is clean but a bit of pest control issues, en-suite bathroom is definitely a plus point for Camic!!

I’ve done 8 liveaboards all over the world at various price points (including the budget, bare-bones kind) and this boat was by far the most uncomfortable I’ve experienced. It was pretty dirty; I know that all boats have roaches, but I don’t expect to see so many. They were even in our beds. I also saw rats multiple times.
It’s difficult to rest between dives because the only seating provided on the Sun deck was a few
very old mats. Resting in the cabins was difficult because the crew hangs out down there during the day and to say they are noisy is an understatement.
The food was fine. I found the long, rambling stories that accompanied every dive briefing to be irritating and unnecessary, but realize that might just be me:) This was my second time in the Similans and the diving there is wonderful! Just try to find a better boat.

Jamie was so helpful and communicative while we planned our trip. Definitely recommend booking with him. The camic has a great staff of dive guides, including Dennis and Tik, who have been diving the Similans for over 20 years. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and really responsive to our needs when we expressed them. They are focused on making a great experience for their guests. The diving was great, weather permitting
of course, and Dennis always focused on finding us the best sites considering the conditions. The crew were very helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and accommodating for us as vegetarians. The basic cabins are clean and AC is included. At times the diesel fumes seeped into our cabin but with the door open and AC running it was alright and we spent a lot of time on the sun deck which was lovely. Definitely recommend this boat for the small number of divers, the guides, the crew, and the food!!

I was picked up on time and taken to the dive center. There I was able to pack my diving gear in my bag and put the suitcase down safely. With the diving equipment and my small backpack, with spare clothes, wash bag, camera medication, etc., I was brought onto the ship with my fellow passengers. There the cabins were distributed and then there was a briefing on the itinerary and the events on the ship. The cabins are small and
there is little counter space and no storage space, but everything was clean. The wet room was adequate and clean (I'm very picky about that), but not enough storage space or coat hooks. The whole crew was always friendly and helpful. The food was varied and sufficient, unfortunately only lukewarm to cold at most. As an excuse you can name the size of the kitchen, there is not even a broom closet. But what is not possible was the vermin infestation. The crawling animals were just as represented in the booth as at the counter where the food was served as at the tables. The beetles were so cheeky that they walked onto your plate even though you were still eating. This is a condition that is unacceptable and should be stopped immediately. The diving groups were well divided and small. The dive guide was rather inattentive and has often lost me as a photographer, which was not a problem for me, thanks to my level of training. However, the briefing was rather a lot of talk about sea creatures that you "might" see and that the tour guide has over 16,000 dives, the actual information was often incomplete. The dive platform was small but we managed. All in all it was a nice liveaboard except for the terrible condition with the bugs. I cannot give the recommendation as long as the beetle problem has not been solved. No Troubles Just Bubbles team with Jamie did a good job. Thanks!
