The first of its fleet is 'MY Sea Serpent' which is a very popular Red Sea liveaboard, for many good reasons. There's a wide choice of itineraries, comfortable cabins on different decks, and a very experienced team of local & western crew. The boat has a clever hull design which offers smooth, fast, safe and easy crossings between some of the best dive locations in The Red Sea.
Sea Serpent is 34 metres long and 7.5 metres wide, making it easily large enough to handle any rough seas, but also giving up to 22 lucky guests plenty of space to enjoy the cruise. This space can be seen inside the cabins, the air-conditioned lounge saloon, and of course out on deck. And the diving platform is also large and well designed. Nitrox is available for free and each diver gets his or her own tank slot and place to store equipment and gear up before each dive.
Starting at the top of the boat we have the flydeck, which can also be called the sun deck. Up here you will find lots of soft seating and sofas to enjoy the 360° views day or night, plus there are sun loungers which enable you to top up your tan, nap, or read a good book. There also beanbags. The boat's upper deck is a very popular area. Here we have more soft seating, in a fully shaded and an exposed area. There's a self service bar and more sun loungers at the front of the boat. Also, on this upper deck are two double-bed cabins and a twin cabin. These three cabins each has a large window and a door that opens out to the stunning views of Egypt's Red Sea.
Sea Serpent's main deck is all communal areas, and most are indoors. Here you can enjoy delicious meals, served buffet style throughout the trip. Vegetarians are fed as well as everyone else, and the food is a great blend of local and western cuisine. There are four large dining tables in the air-conditioned restaurant / diving room. To the rear of this area there's a lounge saloon which has a large flat-screen tv with multimedia facilities. And you will find a staircase down to the lower deck guest cabins. At the rear of the main deck is the huge dive platform, which is easily big enough to safely accommodate a full boat of divers.
Finally, on the lower deck are nine standard twin-bed cabins, all of which has a private bathroom, air conditioning, porthole windows and mini fridge. If you join the trip alone we will only put you in a cabin with another guest of the same gender.

Itinerary
Sea Serpent trips begin every Thursday evening. Guests are usually picked up from local hotels and airports during the afternoon and taken to the boat.
On Friday morning Sea Serpent will depart from the marina and you get two or sometimes three dives that day.
Saturday to Tuesday you can dive up to three (and sometimes four) times per day. Night diving is not allowed within the marine parks.
On Wednesday there are up to two dives in the morning. The boat sails back to the marina, allowing your dive equipment to dry and your body to release excess nitrogen. On Wednesday night you sleep on the boat in the marina, or sometimes in a local hotel.
On Thursday morning everyone leaves the boat after breakfast.
Sea Serpent has a wide selection of different trips, so please check carefully that the itinerary from the list below matches the one for your chosen dates. Another way of doing this is to click on 'Show Itinerary' on the schedule page.
The itineraries below are the most-common for each trip, but these can sometimes be changed for a number of reasons. Small changes are made due to weather & sea conditions, special marine life sightings, overcrowded dive sites, local-authorities' instructions, and the needs & requests of the paying guests. The safety & comfort of all guests is most important at all times.

Courses
Sea Serpent guests are normally already-certified divers before joining the trip, but not all are Advanced or have Nitrox certification. You can choose from several different courses on Sea Serpent. These are usually SSI and need to be booked and paid for in advance.
If you are not yet a certified diver, it is sometimes possible on Sea Serpent, but this requires to be organised before you come.
If you are Open Water and want to move up to Advanced, the SSI Advanced Adventurer Course enables you to dive down to 30 metres, plus improve many other skills and experience.
Sea Serpent has Nitrox for free, and diving on Nitrox has lots of benefits. If you would like to become certified to dive on Nitrox during the trip, this is normally always possible.
Transfer details
Guests are collected from local hotels and the nearest airport during the afternoon of the first day of the trip. The team takes you to the boat in the late afternoon or early evening.
If the boat sails from Hurghada and you land in Marsa Alam, it's normally ok to join a free transfer, but please check with us first. Likewise, if you land at Hurghada and the boat sails from Port Ghalib, it's normally ok but please check.
At the end of the trip, the team will take you to nearby hotels and the airport for free, usually soon after breakfast.
