The Phinisi - Burma

Only highly-experienced dive guides are used on Phinisi, and groups are usually 4 guests or smaller. Every team member is well-trained in CPR and fire safety, and each guest is given a proper safety drill on the first evening. No one wants or expects an emergency, but far out at sea for a week or more requires training and preparation.

There are seven well-appointed cabins on The Phinisi, each with its own private bathroom that has hot & cold freshwater showers & a proper western toilet. There are porthole windows, storage areas including a security safe, and of course air conditioning that is controlled by the guests of each cabin.

Communal areas include a large air-conditioned lounge and outdoor dining & relaxing areas. The comfort is so nice that you could be forgiven for being reluctant to leave the luxury to go diving. But don’t worry, because the team have two larger tender dinghies and a special platform. This ensures that getting off and back on the boat, and into and out of the crystal-clear tropical sea is a pleasure. And the diving in Burma is guaranteed to be something special. Some trips visit The Burma Banks, but all of the trips will offer a wonderful blend of exciting marine life and dive sites, and in most cases you will not see another dive boat out there.

The chefs serve a delicious array of meals throughout each cruise that will ensure everyone is very well fed and wanting for nothing more. There are local & imported beers, wines & spirits available from the bar, as well as a wide choice of non-alcoholic beverages.

Please note that although the diving is in Myanmar (Burma) these trips begin and end in Ranong Town, southern Thailand. Your trip starts in Thailand, but you're stamped out of Thailand, and back in again after the trip. 

Prices & Schedule

Phinisi's trips into Myanmar begin in Thialand, usually in the sourthern resort town of Ranong. Then after guests are stamped out of Thailand at the local immigration office, you board the boat where the Mynmar immigration authorities come on board to process the entry & diving permits. Guests are usually expected to have completed an eVisa application online before the trip.

Trips are 7 or 10 nights in length, with up to four dives per full diving day. Dive sites are pre-planned, but changes can be made at any time due to the weather, sea conditions, local authorities' instructions or special marine life sightings.
