The Phinisi

Possibly the best liveaboard diving yacht in Thailand, The Phinisi offers up to 18 lucky guests a choice of wonderful cruises at all of the best dive sites in The Andaman Sea. The atmosphere, service, food, management, and every detail make its dive cruises an unforgettable experience. What sets The Phinisi apart from other Similan liveaboards is the team's attention to detail and safety. The organisation and professionalism of the team is second to none, and the safety procedures, training and drills are exceptional.

The Phinisi might look like a traditional schooner that could be old, but it's actually a modern boat, just designed this way for looks. It has seven guest cabins, including twins, doubles, and four-bunk. Each cabin has independently-controlled air conditioning & a private bathroom with hot & cold freshwater showers and proper western toilets. There are shelves, cupboards and a mini safe in each cabin, too. Two of the cabins have four single beds, and are therefore ideal for friends, families or solo divers. For more privacy, there are twin-bed cabins that have two single beds. Finally, The Phinisi has double-bed cabins for couples.

There are several very comfortable communal areas on The Phinisi. These include indoor and outdoor areas which are shaded or exposed. The large lounge saloon is a wonderful place to relax with a drink or to watch a movie or diving media on the large flat-screen TV. There are comfortable sofas & stools and tasteful décor. It seems a shame to come on a diving holiday in tropical Thailand and then sit indoors, but sometimes the temptation is just too much.

Out on deck, there is a beautiful outdoor dining area that is covered but gives you panoramic views. Plus there are semi-covered areas for chilling out, and a large sundeck for those who want to top up a tan or gaze at the stars. Such is the luxury on board The Phinisi, that you could be forgiven for not wanting to go diving. However, the dive sites, experienced team, and the boat’s facilities ensure that you will enjoy the diving as much as being on board. Tender dinghies make the start and end of each dive easy, and the Divemaster guides know the area very well. Nitrox is available, and so are PADI diving courses. 

The Phinisi offers several different itineraries in Thailand. There are 4 Day / 4 Night trips to the best diving locations in the Southern Andaman or to the Similans. In addition, the boat offers 6-night cruises to The Similans, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon & Koh Tachai. The Phinisi also offers 10D / 10N trips that dive at all the top dive sites from Richelieu Rock in the north all the way down to Koh Lipe in the south, ensuring that you get to see it all! Prices & Schedule

There are a few different itineraries on The Phinisi.

A few 4D/4N trips are at ‘The Southern Islands’ which are Koh Haa, Hin Daeng, Koh Lipe, Koh Phi Phi & the better dive sites near Phuket.

Most 4D/4N trips go to Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai & Richelieu Rock. Other websites advertise these trips as 5D/4N but considering that you depart in the evening, with no diving that day, it shouldn't be counted.

5D/6N trips to ‘The Northern Islands’ visit the Similans, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and Richelieu Rock. Other websites advertise these trips as 7D/6N but again you depart in the evening on the first day, and leave the boat early after breakfast on the final day. Therefore these non-diving days of a few hours on board should not be included.

The 10-night trips in Thailand combine north and south. Some start north and finish south, and others go the other way.
